We had so much fun in the Northwest! Even with the dreary weather we managed to have a terrific time. In this picture it was bright and sunny 5 minutes before we took it. Then the clouds rolled in. We should have been faster with the camera. 
We enjoyed tons of seafood, partied at the Casinos, and spent time with family. Can’t wait to do it again!

I will try any product boasting to create clear skin. I have always had issues with my skin and have been hopeful in always trying new products hoping they would be the ONE.. I have tried Pro Active, which i also like but after a while quits working for me. I even tried Sensiclear which i saw on a Janice Dickenson Modeling episode. The product did nothing…I do not recommend it.
I have been using the Hope in a bottle and am loving it. It not only improves skin breakouts and blackheads but also is a mild exfoliant and wrinkle reducer. (Amen) How can you go wrong purchasing this? You cant! It does have a medicinal smell to it but i am completely fine with that. Its more medical grade than foo phooey cute product.
You can purchase this product online at philosophy.com or beauty.com. Also available at certain Macy’s, Nordstroms, Neiman Marcus, and Saks. Check your area for the store that carries it first before venturing out and not being able to find it. No need to waste any extra gasoline.

Sober Holiday Season:
Company Holiday Parties: If you decide to go, you could try it for an hour or so. If you are bringing your spouse or partner, let them know that you will probably only be there for an hour or so. Some companies want employees to attend solo and if this is the case, take your cell phone and have a list of sober friends who you can call if you get antsy. Have an exit time planned and stick to it-no matter what.
Family Get –Together: Same thing applies here, if you are single, take a sober friend with you if you can.
Have your own transportation: or bus schedule so that you are not at the mercy of someone else for a ride home-that way you can leave whenever you want and not when your friends decide they’ve had enough. Also, don’t volunteer to be a designated driver.
Meetings, meetings, meetings: Recovery groups and Twelve Step clubs are a safe place to be so try to go to as many as you can. Some AA and NA clubs even have marathon meetings held over the holiday period and some are even open 24 hours. One recovery meeting per day (or more if needed) during the holidays is a really good idea. You will be around people who understand what you are going through and you can share how you are feeling.
Just Say No: If you feel like being around your family or going to a holiday dinner or party is going to be too much, then commit to being somewhere else. Its ok to say no-this is about your sobriety and protecting it and believe it or not, the party will go on without us! There are plenty of things you could be doing, such as doing some service work. You could work the front desk at your local AA or NA club, or volunteer to make coffee for the meetings. You could also help out at a shelter for the homeless or offer to help out at a senior citizens home.
Avoid near beer or non-alcoholic wine: While this may seem obvious to some of us, there are people who think that drinking these beverages is a good idea. Just know that its not and you should be aware that there are trace amounts of alcohol in these drinks and your body will react to the alcohol and ultimately crave it. In addition, if you do go to a holiday party, keep your drink with you at all times, don’t put it down on a table and leave it. You’ll run the risk of picking up someone else’s or worse still there could be someone who thinks it’s funny to spike drinks that are left unattended.
Plan sober activities: Obviously, if you have kids-the list is endless, you can take them to see Santa, you can make holiday cookies together, and there are always Christmas plays and movies to see. Most cities have a holiday parade or Christmas ceremony. But all this fun stuff isn’t just for kids, there’s no reason why you can’t go along with friends to ice skate, go sledding and skiing, hiking and biking or just throwing the football around in the park after everyone is stuffed from too much turkey. After a day full of this kind of thing, all you’ll want to do is curl up with a good DVD, some popcorn and cup of hot chocolate.
New Years Eve: There are a few things you can do-think about spending it at home with your kids and family, play board games and make a nice dinner. You could also have a nice meal with friends out and go home after the meal is over. How about, going to the movies and coming out just in time to see all the fireworks go off. Most AA and NA clubs have dances or parties on New Years or candlelight meetings; you could try either or both. The most important thing is to be comfortable and remember that you’ll wake up in the morning with a clear head and clear conscience.
It’s true that the holiday season is a tough time for sobriety, but if you surround yourself with people who are also in recovery and take steps to safeguard your sobriety, you are protecting yourself, and that is the most important.

Did you know that when you wash your face and think its clean that most likely its not? It takes approximately three washes to fully get all the makeup, oil, and dirt off your face and out of your pores. Yep 3 washes in a row. After all of that your skin will most likely will feel like you have a sunburn. “That never feels good” Especially if you are just using regular soap. (Stop that!)
I would wash my face at least twice every night until i found this product. This is an amazing cleanser. It takes makeup and eye makeup off in one wash. I use it along with my clarisonic and i get the cleanest skin. (oh boy do i love my clarisonic)
You just wet your face, rub some all over and instantly your makeup comes right off. You wont ever have to worry about using a white towel again. Better yet…you can hug all over your man and know you wont ruin his shirt!

Heaven Sent!…….This is the best product i have purchased all year long. The clarisonic is made by the folks that invented the sonicare oral hygiene system. Its sonic powered!!! The clarisonic cleans six times better than regular washing. I purchased the pink clarisonic system. I love the pink color and some of the proceeds go to fight breast cancer. The clarisonic also comes in a charcoal color for the gentlemen.
I wash my makeup off, which is not necessary since the clarisonic will sonic…ly clean your makeup off as well. I then put the cleanser on the brush and continue to go over my face until i feel i am done. I tend to do it longer then needed but it kind of feels good. After i am done, my face is super clean and smooth. I continue with my skin care cream and i am done.
After less than a week of using this product morning and night i noticed changes in my skin. My pores were becoming smaller, acne disappeared, texture was smoother, and color was improving. I cant wait to see what long term use produces.

Mascara is a staple for the face. We all love to have long thick lashes. I myself, cant live without mascara. If i have to leave the house with only one item of makeup. I want it to be mascara. Its not that i have bad lashes and NEED mascara, but it does such a dramatic, flirty look for the face.
I have found the perfect mascara and unbelievably its affordable and easily accessible. You can find it at Walgreen’s or Rite-Aid ….. Yep! Its Loreal’s Telescopic mascara in carbon black. I have used this mascara for a couple of years. I always try new brands of mascara including lancome, clinique, and mac. I still find telescopic to beat them all out.
It goes on wet but not too wet, never dry. You can work it for a few minutes to get the thickest lashes and it wont dry out on you. My lashes have never been longer than when i use this product. Its fabulous and its under $15 dollars. YEAH!
My tip…..there are many shades of black and brown in this product. I suggest carbon black for everyone even if you have light lashes. There is nothing better than beautiful long, thick lashes.

Have you heard of ARBONNE? Have you ever tried it? I thought i would try out this highly talked about product ARBONNE. It boasts of anti aging properties, natural ingredients, and many other positive skin care concepts.
I was very excited about using this product, since i am obsessed with anti age products, wrinkle fighters, and any youthful age defying product. I mean how could i go wrong with this product claiming to only offer the highest quality ingredients made from bio chemists and herbalists?
So i begin to try…..i use every morning and every evening. Wash, eye cream, face cream etc. After a week and a half i start to notice the lightening of a dark spot near my eye….i am ecstatic….then the bumps come. Many many small little bumps all over my face like sand paper. I figure i am just breaking out, i continue to use my new product but the face never seems to get any better. Now i am freaking, using all my acne products.
I call my consultant and order the acne pills that ARBONNE sells and i hear they work wonders. I know two other girls whom have used them and they love what they do. Ofcourse i use the pills and….nothing…..no change what so ever.
I quit using this product and start with something else, which is working and making me happy. I don’t mean to be negative about ARBONNE. It just didn’t work for me. A friend of mine is using it regularly and really seems to like it.
I will say that i loved the night cream. I used it all over and its wonderful. The lifting serum seems to roll off the skin after a few hours, and we all now how gross that is. The sunscreen is also a little thick and keeps the face shiny, but in defense of ARBONNE……..i have never found a sunscreen that isn’t a thick, sticky, pore clogging mess anyways.
